2. Tuition /  Fee

-Tuition: The tuition for 1 on 1/Semi-Private and/or group/course sessions varies based on the programs selected. All fees related to tuition are due in their entirety prior to the first session. Students will not be allowed to attend session until all fees are paid in full.

-Enrollment Fee: A one-time registration fee of $120.00 will be included for the first invoice. The enrollment fee of $120.00 will be charged again if a student discontinues for 2 months or more and returns.

-Material Fee: Most materials will be provided for the students. A material administrative fee of $10.00 per subject per month will be included in the invoice for all onsite students. If students need to purchase books, these will be charged on the invoice in accordance to the price of the book.

3. Payment Option

-Payment Types: Excel Academy accepts all valid credit/debit cards, checks, cash, online payment(Zelle), money orders, and cashier’s checks.

-For Credit/Debit Card Payment Clients: We will automatically process tuition payment with a 3.5% processing fee for credit card payment clients using the authorized credit card on the due date. Credit/Debit card fee will be waived when tuition is paid with cash, check, ACH, or online payment(Zelle).

-Bank Charge / Late Fee: Any bank charges Excel Academy receives regarding returned payments will be separately charged $35.00. If tuition is past the due date, a $35.00 late fee will be added to the original tuition.

4. Course / Package Agreement

– Hourly Package: Students must enroll in 20-hour, 40-hour, 80-hour, or 160-hour agreements. All agreements are priced hourly. The tuition must be paid upfront for your entire contract at the time of enrollment. All hours must be used within the schedule agreed upon at the time of enrollment.

– Course/Group-setting sessions enrollment: Excel Academy requires an agreement for at least one semester or one course when students enroll.

5. Refund

Excel Academy does not offer refunds under any circumstances.

6. Class Cancellations

– Same-Day Cancellation: Excel Academy currently does not offer make-up sessions or rescheduling for same-day cancellations, except in emergent situations. Please understand our tutors/instructors have schedules that are booked in advance.

– No refund/Credit: There will be no refunds or credits applied to the next invoice for canceled sessions. Sessions canceled 24 hours in advance will be eligible for a make-up session. Notice of a cancellation less than 24 hours before the session is scheduled will result in the full price being charged for the class, and no make-up class will be offered.

7. Attendance / Discontinuation

-Weekly Attendance Requirement: All tutoring sessions except college counseling sessions are counted on a minimum weekly by each subject. Any planned missed sessions notified at least 24 hours in advance must be scheduled as separate make-up sessions. This ensures consistency for your students and supports academic progress.

-Break/Discontinuation: For more than a two-month period (60 days) break, we will consider discontinuation, not provide make-up sessions, and new enrollment fees will occur upon return.

8. Make-Up Policy

– We do not offer any credit to your next invoice for make-up sessions except for the center closure dates. Make-up sessions are permitted only for sessions canceled at least 24 hours in advance. The front office will manage make-up sessions separately instead of applying them to the next invoice.

– All make-up sessions must be completed by the end of the calendar year with the current payment enrollment period.

– If Excel Academy closes the center due to holidays or cancels classes for any unexpected reasons (i.e. inclement weather, building maintenance issues, emergency etc.), we will schedule a make-up class to compensate for the cancellation.

– No Guarantee the same tutor/instructor for make-up sessions: We cannot guarantee the same tutor for makeup sessions. Excel Academy makes every effort to schedule make-up sessions with the original tutor/instructor, but we cannot guarantee the same tutor/instructor for make-up sessions. Due to limited availability, once the make-up is scheduled, rescheduling or cancellations are not accepted. Make-up requests will be accepted via text or email to the Excel Academy office.

We do not offer any make-up sessions for group/course-setting sessions such as New York Times Fusion Class, MCT, debate, book club, coding, SAT/PSAT/ACT Bootcamp, AP group class, any short-term course classes, AIand homework classes.

– No Rescheduling for Make-up Sessions: Please note that we cannot offer rescheduling for make-up sessions.

9. Online Tutoring (Optional)

-Zoom Communication: Online tutoring at Excel Academy is held through Zoom, while materials are shared using Google Classroom. With the tutoring session hosted through Zoom, students are required to have an electronic device with a functioning camera and microphone. Zoom meeting access information will be distributed to students/parents one day prior to the scheduled class. Students are still held accountable for completing their homework assignments and attending their Zoom sessions on time. Missing an online tutoring session and/or the need to reschedule an online tutoring session requires a 24 hour notice to the office.

-Google Classroom: All students participating in online tutoring may be required to be part of Excel Academy’s Google Classroom and the appropriate classes. Google classroom codes will be distributed in advance, prior to the first class. Google classroom codes need to be added by the student using a personal gmail that is not affiliated with nv.ccsd.net or any school-related accounts. Students will need to set their screen name with an identifiable first and/or last name (students who will be using parents’ accounts can have the parents’ first and last name).

10. Tutor / Instructor

High Quality Tutors/Instrcutors: Excel Academy pursues the highest quality tutoring and, as such, employs the most qualified educators. To maximize each student’s progress, we strive to schedule sessions with the same tutor/instructor as much as possible. However, in unavoidable circumstances (such as unavailabilty, emergency situations, etc.), we may offer a substitute tutor/instructor. If you prefer to continue with the same tutor, we kindly ask for your patience until a makeup session with the same tutor becomes available. We do not hold tutor/instructor’s schedule in advance.

11. Right to refuse / Pick up

-Right to refuse: Parents, guardians, siblings, and all other associates must observe Excel Academy’s guidelines while on the premises. Excel Academy reserves the right to refuse admission and/or instruction.

-Pick up: Students under the 3rd grader will not be released until they are picked up by an appointed adult. Excel Academy is not responsible for any events/incidents off the Academy grounds unless specifically sponsored by the Academy.

12. Privacy

In order to preserve our students’ and families’ individual privacy, Excel Academy will not be disclosing any information to any other parties unless the information and details are shared with the parents/guardians. In order to ensure the safety and well being of our students and families items such as tuition, involved programs, and any other personal details will not be released to any other parties under any circumstances. This will include any conversations between administrators and/or teachers in any public setting. If any discussions or reports regarding a student’s performance in their academics is needed, it will be done through the Evernotes system. In other cases, for an in-depth conversation, an appointment should be made to speak with the admin and the teacher.

13. Medical Contitions and Individual Needs

Excel Academy must be made aware of any and all students with medical conditions or specialized needs. Allergies must be notified to the office. All medical records are confidential to the office and the instructor for privacy and safety reasons. In the case of a medical emergency, Excel Academy will act to the best of common knowledge and abilities. Medical professionals will be notified for any serious problems. I acknowledge that I have received the above statement and that I have thoroughly read and understood Excel Academy’s terms and conditions. I have had the opportunity to discuss the above criteria with the office at Excel Academy. I understand that these terms and conditions are enforced with no exceptions and are not up for negotiations.
